Prof Dr Haji Abdul Malik Bin Haji Abdul Karim Amarullah (HAMKA).

Hamka or his real name Haji Abdul Malik Bin Haji Abdul Karim Amarullah is one of asian famous scholar especially in Islam world.Also known as Buya Hamka, he was born in 17 february 1908 at Minangkabau,Sumatera,Indonesia.His father Haji Abdul Karim Amarullah was famous Ulama at Minangkabau and was recognized as Islamic reform carrier.Moreover, his grandfather known as Tuan Kisai was a reclusive scholar famous tarekat in Sumatera.
Hamka received his early education from Madrasah Tawalib founded by his father. Her childhood, like her other children are also said to rugged and mischievous. It is told by Sheikh Haji Ahmad Jelebu that Hamka was splashing water to other students during ablution. After that he studied was the Sheikh Ibrahim Musa in Bukit Tinggi. In 1924, Hamka migrated to Java could claim was the leader of the Indonesian Islamic movements such as Haji Omar Said Chakraminoto. Other teachers were Haji Fakharudin, Ki Bagus Hadi Kesumo and self-in-law Rashid Sultan Mansur.
Hamka has joined Muhamadiah Movement and the leadership of the organization in Padang Panjang in 1928. Hamka active against the symptoms of superstition, heresy and mysticism lost there. He established the Madrasah Mubalighin in 1929 and the next two, buya Hamka passed onto the City of Makassar, Sulawesi to be led Muhamadiah.
Existing knowledge and leadership qualities in his push to take several universities as a lecturer in religion and philosophy. Between the university is the Islamic University of Jakarta, West Sumatra Mohamadiah University, Islamic University of Jogjakarta government and the Islamic University of Makassar. In recognition of its science, Al-Azhar University, Egypt was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 1958 and he also received the degree of Doctor of Letters on June 7, 1974 UKM.
Buya Hamka passed away on 28 July 1981, at age of 73 years old in Jakarta Indonesia.He left many works such as novels, magazines, book religion and philosophy.Among that are, novels like "Dibawah lindungan Ka'abah", "Merantau ke Deli","Laila Majnun".Among of book of religion and philosoy are "Tafsir Al-Azhar 30-Juz","Tasawuf Moden","Islam dan Adat Minangkabau",and" Lembaga Hidup".Magezines that he was wrote are "Panji Masyarakat","Semangat Islam",and "Al-Mahdi".
